Selection of original works
Original manuscripts are evaluated by internal and external experts at the University of Barcelona, by double-blind peer review to ensure the anonymity of authors and reviewers. Once an evaluation has been made, the author(s) will receive a reasoned response from the director of the collection, whether or not the work is accepted. Positive evaluations will indicate, where applicable, possibilities for rewriting or rethinking the paper to incorporate any amendments or observations, and, if necessary, the need to adapt the work to the editorial criteria of the collection, specifying whether changes would be obligatory or optional. Final acceptance of a paper may be conditional on whether or not any proposed changes are accepted. The publisher would then schedule publication in agreement with the director of the collection, and contact the author(s) of the accepted work to formalise a publishing contract, informing them of the details of the publishing process and the expected date of publication of the work.
The editorial process
Once an original manuscript has been accepted and the author notified of the decision, the publisher will begin the process of editing and producing the work, which is handled by an editor in coordination with those in charge of the collection and the author. The editor will inform the author of the different phases of the publication process and the corresponding timelines, to facilitate the planning of any required revisions.
