This essay reflects on the hypothetical disappearance of the classroom based on the temporal and spatial conditions of the pandemic (COVID-19). The hypothesis is that the classroom will not disappear but be translated. Therefore, the starting point revolves around a series of reflections on the implications and meanings of the need to install the classroom – understood as a place and time of separation from daily and productive life – at home. The home and the school as distinct places have been forced to unify and this has had effects on the teaching/learning processes through the digitalisation of teaching. As a result of this unification, it is suggested that there has been a need to reinvent the educational relationship through virtuality.
