Abstract
Every family needs to make decisions about its children’s early childhood education but each family’s interests and needs are unique. Often, unsure of how to proceed, parents and carers use different strategies to address their doubts. At the present time, a number of training pro-grammes and educational institutions provide families with an opportunity to compare their experiences and this active exchange of ideas and views can become a valuable educational resource. Our research examines the subjects that interest families when they educate their children, their knowledge of education and educational models, and the degree to which families’ interest in education is related to their knowledge of it. Finally, the paper examines the resources that families use when educating children in this age group.
