Abstract
In this article, we aim to define, describe and highlight the functions of teachers in secondary education institutions. These professionals are skilled in psychological and pedagogical assessment, coexistence and humanization in education, the consideration of student diversity, guidance and tutorship, lifelong learning, educational innovation, coordination and leadership and the democratic participation of the entire educational community. In addition, we refer to professional training and specifically to the functions that could be carried out in social and cultural services professions, in the community, and in the module of vocational training and career guidance.
