Abstract
In this article, we suggest that great progress has been made worldwide in women's schooling and in the number of women with higher education qualifications. If we assume that this is an indicator of educational success, we could consider that discrimination against women in education is over. However, education also affects people's habits and a set of data shows that, in many aspects, education continues to be sexist and transmits an androcentric world view. The result is women's internalization of a secondary place in society and of behaviour that demonstrates that achievements in the academic environment do not correspond to the real position that women hold in public life.
