Ramón Maria Nogués és catedràtic emèrit d’Antropologia Biològica a la Facultat de Ciències i a la de Ciències de l’Educació de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Ha seguit estudis de pedagogia, filosofia i teologia, i és doctor en biologia per la Universitat de Barcelona. Treballa en genètica de poblacions, especialment en poblacions aïllades, a la vegada que s’ha dedicat a l’estudi de la neurobiologia evolutiva. ORCID: 0000-0002-3366-6293. Starting from the recognition of the exceptionality of humans with regard to the regulation of the behaviors that allow living beings to adapt to the environment and survive, the article identifies the neurobiological foundations that account for this uniqueness and closes with a summary of the main criteria that distinctively guide human behavior.
