The University of Barcelona’s commitment to internationalization is inseparable from its commitment to the society and the language of the country. In this context, it is essential that the multilingualism inherent in the current European Higher Education Area is combined with an equally firm commitment to protect, use and promote the language of Catalonia. This Plan for Languages establishes and ensures the implementation of the University of Barcelona’s language policy — with special emphasis on the need to guarantee the linguistic rights of the student body— and it also follows up on, renews and updates the three language plans that precede it.
