The 2nd Language Promotion Plan of the University of Barcelona, approved by the Governing Council on July 16, 2025, was created with the purpose of being an indispensable tool for normalizing the Catalan language in all academic activities and for promoting language policies that reverse the minority status of Catalan. Strengthening and promoting it is the responsibility of the governing bodies and the entire UB community, and must be done, as this plan proposes, from the conviction that a language with a thousand years of history, such as Catalan, is the language of our own and of normal and preferred use in our centuries-old university.
