Revista de Historia Industrial – Industrial History Review núm. 96
Ramon Ramon-Muñoz, Gabriele Cappelli, and Juliana Jaramillo-Echeverri (eds.)
Founded in 1992, Revista de Historia Industrial – Industrial History Review (RHI-IHR) is a pioneering journal indexed in the most prestigious international databases. It promotes historical research into the processes of industrialisation and the social, economic, institutional, environmental, and demographic transformations associated with them. With a global scope and an inclination toward methodological diversity, RHI-IHR publishes original papers in English and Spanish in three regular issues each year. This is the second volume of a special issue offering New Perspectives in Global Economic History in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with a focus on the interaction between global forces and local factors. After a general introduction, the contributions examine migration in extraterritorial Shanghai, remittance flows from Spanish emigrants in the Americas, poor relief in the Ottoman Empire, and the diplomacy of US sovereign debt. The issue concludes with four book reviews.
